    What did you like most about being a student at ELTE The chance to get a taste of a totally different education system This combined with being surrounded by a wide gamma of talented students from all over the world I enjoyed group works with classmates of diverse academic backgrounds something I had never experienced in Belgium Furthermore I was intrigued by the Hungarian high qualified professors who all had their own way of conveying their knowledge ELTE gave me the opportunity to enrol in courses I had never even heard of and were surprisingly eye opening Lastly Eötvös Loránd University foresees its international students with a broad range of student activities organised by ESN ELTE As a new student in an unfamiliar environment I cannot emphasize enough how much the Student Network has facilitated me to adapt What were the challenges in your study program The communication between professors and their students was dissimilar for almost every course Some used Google Docs others Neptun or e mailing This was confusing for me since I was not completely aware of some of these working methods How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career It made me more aware of the cultural differences amongst people around the globe It is one thing to see a video clip about diversity but experiencing it yourself gave me a totally shifted view on my degree My semester at ELTE contributed to my personal development as well as my professional accomplishments It has acquired me with the right competences that altered me to the Social Worker I am today It made me aware of who I am what I want and where I stand for Do you have any advice for future students at ELTE Be aware that studying

    other well Also the working style and way of thinking differ from my original environment When participating extracurricular activities it needs many efforts to coordinate and communicate well How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career I also have internship and part time jobs here When I started my first semester I received the email from ELTE about a lecture held in the EU headquarter in Hungary A man talked to me after the lecture because I was the only non European He offered me an internship to interview transnational immigrants from China and I finished the project at the beginning of my second semester Another opportunity was also from an email from ELTE about the International Student Conference of the V4 and Romania Fortunately I was selected to represent Hungary with other Hungarian students Our accommodation was provided by the Hungarian Embassy in Romania and my paper was on the conference program I was the only representative from ELTE and it was a unique experience for me to play a role in a conference which was only for Central and Eastern European students Besides I got connected to the most famous Chinese newspaper in Hungary via the website of the Confucius Institute at ELTE and then I became a part time news translator editor until I finish my study here I was also a PR team member in the Model United Nations Conference in Budapest and staff member in the European Institutions Simulation in Athens Studing at ELTE cannot only broaden my horizon but it also helps me to accumulate unique experience for future development Do you have any advice for future students at ELTE A good preparation and previous research can make your life and study easier Don t hesitate to ask

    as well What did you like most about being a student at ELTE In terms of location and function the Faculty of Humanities is very well placed in the center close to the Danube and on a very dynamic street that is full of second hand bookshops and affordable restaurants with delicious food The campus itself is equally dynamic with old beautiful buildings Concerning education I am also quite satisfied with the department that I study at Aterlier due to the friendly atmosphere that the staff and students alike create as well as the exciting and demanding curriculum What were the challenges in your study program Having graduated previously with a BSc in Landscape Design coming to TEMA a theoretical and research based master proved to be a challenge in the sense that I had to make a bigger effort than students who already have a background in humanities But the bigger the challenge the more rewarding is a good outcome How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career The TEMA degree diversified my professional knowledge and skills and granted me international connections It allows me to apply for a PhD or a research NGO based job in the near future in the field of urban studies or social sciences Do you have any advice for future students at ELTE Könyvtár Klub is the most awesome place on Campus Calendar February 2016 Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 ELTE is the most popular higher education institution among Erasmus students News findings

    What did you like most about being a student at ELTE What I liked most was the cozy and intimate environment held by the Atelier Franco Hongrois We were fortunate to receive a personalized follow up according to our research subject and our cultural and academic background In addition professors and coordinators nourished an atmosphere of confidence that made the first contacts easier Everyone was willing to share a piece of advice on anything other than academic issues like finding where to live getting a visa issued and useful daily tips What were the challenges in your study program As an anthropologist dealing with the spatial framework of social phenomena the greatest challenge was to look at my usual academic topics through the eyes of new concepts and distant geographies That is to say as well trying to convey my vision of the world within an intercultural arena permeated by a vast array of civilizational and linguistic backgrounds How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career Having a decentered life experience usually helps you to break the vision of the world as you knew it before allowing you to find brotherhood and cultural parallelisms out of your comfort zone In my case I can say that I had an unusual pathway on re reading my own national consciousness as Mexican through the understanding of the Magyar ethnic historical and political consciousness interwoven between East and West I guess that such innovative learning experiences hand in hand with linguistic and intercultural competences are highly appreciated in comprehensive working environments Do you have any advice for future students at ELTE I think that Budapest and ELTE are privileged standpoints where diverse international cultural and academic spheres come together Otherwise I would suggest you to try everything
